AAD
  1. Attitude Anomaly Detector
  2. Automatic Activation Device: a "fail-safe" device often used in a parachute pack
  3. Airborne Armoured Division
    1. A division of armoured vehicles flown in by aircraft and deployed from the ground
    2. A shock division of armoured vehicles in the Jekotian armed forces that works with a ground team to disable any anti-air emplacements in an area and then deploy via ’hard drop’
      1. Hard Drop: a method of aerial forces insertion where a vehicle deploys a parachute out of the back of the dropship carrying it in order to pull itself out of the cargo bay and into freefall. This method of insertion is considered by most to be suicidal, but is greatly preferred to a ’hot drop’
        1. Hot Drop: A near-suicidal last-resort insertion method for AAD's under heavy fire while still in the air. A 'hot drop' is much like a 'hard drop', except the vehicles are deployed at a lower altitude, during evasive flight manouvers, making the drop far more dangerous. Members of the 83rd like to call it a drop into hell. This is considered an extreme tactic due to the failure rate of such an insertion
